The People's Committee of Lam Dong province held a press conference on December 12, aiming to provide the press with additional information about the program of the Da Lat Flower Festival themed “Da Lat and Flowers”.
The festival will see 11 major programs take place, including the opening ceremony of the eighth Dalat Flower Festival – 2019 in Lam Vien Square, a special art program, a flower space around the Xuan Huong Lake area, an international exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants, in addition to a Bao Loc silk and brocade fashion show.
According to organisers, the event will host a wide range of activities aimed at honouring the value of Da Lat’s flower industry and promoting the development of the local tea and silk industry.
Most notably, Xuan Huong lake will be redesigned to match the cultural spaces of the Ma, K'Ho, and Chu Ru ethnic minority people who live throughout Lam Dong province.
During the festival, Lam Dong Tea Culture and Silk Week will be held in Bao Loc city with the aim of promoting tourism and the development of tea and silk production regionally with an array of exciting activities taking place for guests to enjoy.
Tran Thi Vu Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Lat City People's Committee, said the city has put the centre of a smart city into operation which will ultimately serve to make a positive contribution to ensuring security and order during the upcoming event.
The eighth Dalat Flower Festival is scheduled to take place between December 20-24 in Dalat city, Bao Loc district, and a number of other localities around Lam Dong.
