Farmers from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia gathered at a friendship meeting held at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat City, in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on November 30.
During the three-day programme, participants shared their experience on agricultural development, farming and rural affairs in the three countries and signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate the application of technology in the food safety chain and the consumption of agricultural products.
They also visited high-tech agricultural models in Da Lat City, which are being developed to catch up with the fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).
As part of the programme, a green agricultural fair opened on the same day, featuring 225 booths showcasing the agricultural products and specialties of businesses from the three countries.
According to Dinh Khac Dinh, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Farmers’ Association, head of the event’s organising board, the programme aims to strengthen solidarity and friendship between the peoples of the three countries while promoting mutual support among farmers in doing businesses and consuming agricultural products.
Meas Pyseth, Deputy Secretary of State of Cambodia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, said that the Cambodian delegation wishes to exchange experience with farmers from Vietnam and Laos.
Meanwhile, Nhiakerya Nochochongtoua, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Construction said that the exchange programme provides an opportunity chance for farmers of the three countries to foster cooperation and exchange with each other.
